When we’re going out by bike in Bucharest or we’re at the end of a ride close-by the city, we have our go-to places to eat and drink coffee. Here are some reasons why:
- they serve delicious food / coffee – a must!
- the location is bike-friendly – this means that there is space to have your bike next to you or somewhere you can see it all the time (I would not leave my road bike out of sight)
- the location is somewhat central (towards the Northern area), easily accessible by bike
Breakfast / brunch at Coffee Place with Honest Food
Situated next to Herastrau Park, CPWHF is our go-to place to have breakfast or bunch and to enjoy a delicious specialty coffee. They serve granola, avocado & toast, and yummy veggie and non-veggie sandwiches.

Coffee at Onest Coffee
If you’re only in search for coffee and something sweet (eg banana bread), one option could be Onest. They have an outdoor space, in a court, where you can enjoy the coffee and park your bike. For chilly days there is also the option of savouring the coffee inside, on the bench.

Lovely outside setting Deliciousness! Comfy in the court
Lunch at Bite
Looking for a more consistent meal? Then you might want to check out Bite! It is nice place for brunch (eg avocado toast) but also lunch or dinner (eg soups, salads, burgers). They have a garden where you can safely park your bike next to you 🙂 We also go there without bikes, just to have a meal, as their indoor setting is very pleasing.

Ice cream at Sweetology
Next is time for dessert 🙂 My recommendation is Sweetology – they have delicious gelato, perfect for an after-ride treat. In front of the store there are few benches where you can enjoy the ice cream safely. They serve the classic tastes (mango and vanilla are my favourite), but also exotic ones such as grapefruit and aperol.

Eclairs at French Revolution
I know that rides can be tiring and the need for sugar quite high – that’s why I have one more option for sweets. What would you say about the best eclairs in Bucharest? French Revolution is the place for a post-ride decadence! There are plenty of tables to sit comfortably next to your bike and enjoy the (hopefully) well-deserved sweet treat.

What other outdoor bike-friendly places do you know in Bucharest, or in other cities in Romania?
Happy riding!
